One of the most flamboyant Drag Race queens is stepping into Oscar Wilde’s shoes. Producers have announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jan Sport will make her UK musical theatre debut in Oscar at the Crown, with booking now extended at The Crown on Tottenham Court Road to 30 October 2025.
The underground sensation has become a word-of-mouth hit, mixing club culture, political satire and glitter-soaked chaos. Billed as a “theatrical dance party experience”, the show takes audiences to a dystopian bunker where only reality TV, disco balls and the complete works of Wilde have survived. Guests are invited to drink, dance and join a revolution in sequins.
From 12 September 2025, Jan Sport will take on the title role. Best known from RuPaul’s Drag Race, All Stars, The Voice and America’s Got Talent, she has been part of the Oscar at the Crown family since its inception in Boston in 2015. “To be able to return to this amazing show a decade later, and to make my UK debut in my favourite city, feels like the best way to step into Wilde’s world,” she said. “OSCAR is the most fun you can legally have in a theatre.”
She joins a high-energy cast including Kelis Alleyne as Erika, Elizabeth Chalmers as Constance, Ella Daini as Exile, Luke Farrugia as Sonja, Zak Marx as Bosie, Elinor Morris as Ramona, Zofia Weretka as Vicki and Natalie Yin as Exile, alongside a company of performers who keep the party pulsing from start to finish.
Following acclaimed runs in New York and at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe, the show has built a cult reputation for its blend of Wildean wit and late-night excess. With its bunker staging of broken TV screens and burnt-out tube carriages, the experience feels part concert, part revolution.
The production is created by The Neon Coven with concept and book by Mark Mauriello. Music, lyrics and choreography come from Andrew Barret Cox, whose tracks have become Drag Race staples, and direction is by Shira Milikowsky, celebrated for her radical reimaginings of musicals and classic texts.
The London run is staged in a purpose-built subterranean venue from Path Entertainment Group and producers ROYO, whose current slate includes Here & Now – The Steps Musical, 13 Going on 30 the Musical and Kinky Boots starring Johannes Radebe.
Tickets are already moving fast. For fans of Drag Race, Wilde or wild nights out, this is a glitter-drenched party that refuses to be missed.
