The West End’s most stylish musical just dropped its hottest new accessory. The Devil Wears Prada: A New Musical has released its Original West End Cast Recording on CD, Digital and LP, giving fans a chance to take the Dominion Theatre’s record-breaking show home.

Composed by musical icon Sir Elton John, with lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick and book by Kate Wetherhead, the album captures the exuberance and wit of London’s box office smash. Since opening last year, The Devil Wears Prada has become the fastest-selling show in Dominion history, proving that Miranda Priestly still rules the runway.

The recording features the celebrated original cast: Vanessa Williams (Miranda), Matt Henry, MBE (Nigel), Georgie Buckland (Andy), Amy Di Bartolomeo (Emily), Rhys Whitfield (Nate) and James Darch (Christian). Produced and mixed by Giles Martin, the album also includes two previously unheard Elton John demos: I Mean Business and The Devil Wears Prada, offering fans a glimpse into the creative blueprint of the score.

Leading the album’s launch is the new single Dress Your Way Up, performed by Matt Henry and Georgie Buckland. It follows earlier releases including Miranda Girl and the glittering title track performed by Vanessa Williams and Matt Henry. Together, the 18 tracks combine pop sass, theatrical bite and Elton John’s contemporary flair, making for a cast album that sparkles as brightly as Gregg Barnes’s costumes.

“Elton John’s exuberant music” declared The Guardian. The Evening Standard called the songs “irresistible… absolutely fabulous,” while the Daily Express praised the show as “a devil of a good time.” The album distils that West End buzz into a recording that feels both theatrical and chart-ready.

Reflecting on the project, Elton John said: “The subject matter of The Devil Wears Prada absolutely screams out for music. It’s been one of my favourite films of the last 20 years, so writing for the stage version was an absolute no-brainer. The best musicals leave people with a joyous feeling, and that’s completely how I felt writing this.”

Behind the glamour is an award-winning creative team led by director-choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde), with set design by Tim Hatley, costumes by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Bruno Poet and sound design by Gareth Owen. Together they’ve turned Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling novel and the 2006 blockbuster film into a hilariously fun and fabulously stylish musical about ambition, identity and the price of success.

With its release today via Island EMI, the cast recording ensures fans can relive the show’s high notes — or discover them for the first time. From runway struts to heartfelt ballads, this album proves The Devil Wears Prada isn’t just a musical: it’s a lifestyle.
