Producers have released a new set of production images from Beautiful Little Fool, the brand new musical currently playing at Southwark Playhouse Borough, where it opened last week. The newly released images offer a first look at the London company, led by David Hunter as F. Scott Fitzgerald. Hunter’s previous credits include Waitress, Once, Kinky Boots and The Time Traveller’s Wife. He stars alongside Lauren Ward as Scottie, with Hannah Corneau appearing on stage as Zelda Fitzgerald.

Completing the principal company are David Austin-Barnes as ensemble and cover for F. Scott, Amy Parker as ensemble and cover for Scottie and Zelda, and Jasmine Hackett as swing. The world premiere production runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough until Saturday 28 February 2026.

With music and lyrics by Corneau and a book by Mona Mansour, Beautiful Little Fool is directed by Michael Greif. The musical explores the complicated marriage of Zelda and F. Scott Fitzgerald through the perspective of their daughter Scottie, who revisits their lives, legacy and contradictions as she pieces together her own understanding of family, authorship and identity.

Alongside the London production, the full Beautiful Little Fool concept album is now available. Recorded in New York, the album features performances from Jessie Mueller, Ryan Vasquez and Corneau herself. Following the release of the first single So Alive, sung by Mueller, listeners can also hear One Night in July, with the complete album offering an early showcase of Corneau’s emotionally driven score. Orchestrations and musical direction for the album are by Adam Rothenberg.

The London creative team includes Rothenberg on orchestrations, Jerome van den Berghe as musical director, Shankho Chaudhuri on set design, Laura Hopkins on costume design, Ben Stanton on lighting and Domnic Bilkey on sound.

Originally commissioned by New Works Provincetown, Beautiful Little Fool is produced by Mark Cortale, Jonathan Murray, Harvey Reese and Willette & Manny Klausner.
