Wicked Celebrates 15th Birthday in London’s West End admin
10-11-26
New casting has been announced for the West End production of Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, with two major names stepping into its most iconic roles this summer.
From 25 May 2026, Olivier Award nominee Jamie Muscato will take on the role of the Emcee, alongside Tony and Grammy Award nominee Joy Woods as Sally Bowles.
They join a company that includes Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw and Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, alongside Robert Hands, Lucas Koch and Jessica Kirton.

Muscato arrives following a string of high-profile roles across the West End, most recently starring in The Great Gatsby at the London Coliseum and Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 at the Donmar Warehouse, the latter earning him an Olivier Award nomination. His credits also include Les Misérables The Staged Concert, Heathers, Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Once, marking him as one of the most versatile leading men currently working in musical theatre.

Woods makes her West End debut in the production following major success on Broadway. Her recent work includes a Tony and Grammy Award nominated performance in Gypsy, alongside roles in The Notebook and Little Shop of Horrors. She will also appear in a solo concert at Cadogan Hall this summer, further introducing her to UK audiences.
The production continues its landmark run at the Kit Kat Club, where it has become the longest-running version of Cabaret in West End history, recently surpassing 1,800 performances. Since opening in 2021, the immersive staging has been widely recognised, winning seven Olivier Awards and multiple Critics’ Circle Awards.
Directed by Rebecca Frecknall, the production transforms the theatre into an in-the-round venue, with audiences entering the world of the Kit Kat Club before the performance begins. Pre-show entertainment, dining and drinks are all part of the experience, blurring the line between audience and performance from the moment guests arrive.
The musical itself remains one of the most enduring titles in the repertoire, featuring songs including Wilkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time and Money. With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff, the show continues to explore themes of identity, politics and shifting social landscapes through its Berlin setting.

Muscato is scheduled to play the role of the Emcee until 19 September 2026, with Woods appearing as Sally Bowles until 5 September. From 7 to 19 September, the role of Sally will be played by Marina Tavolieri, who also covers the role during scheduled absences.
With this latest casting announcement, the production continues to refresh its central performances while maintaining the immersive experience that has defined its success.
Cabaret is currently booking at the Kit Kat Club until January 2027.
