The full principal cast has been announced for the highly anticipated West End revival of Jonathan Larson’s RENT, with a host of rising musical theatre stars joining Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo when the production opens in London this autumn.

Producers have also confirmed that, due to overwhelming demand, booking has now been extended until 27 March 2027, just days after tickets first went on sale.

Joining the previously announced Matarazzo as aspiring filmmaker Mark are Travis Ross as Roger, Bella Brown as Mimi, Billy Nevers as Collins, Lazy Violet as Maureen, Olivier Award nominee Danielle Fiamanya as Joanne, Jeevan Braich as Angel and Joaquin Pedro Valdes as Benny.

Directed by Olivier Award winner Luke Sheppard, the new production begins performances at the Duke of York’s Theatre on 26 September 2026, ahead of an official opening night on 8 October. During its run, the venue will also become the Tom Stoppard Theatre, following its previously announced renaming.

Celebrating 30 years since its Broadway debut, RENT remains one of musical theatre’s defining works. Inspired by Puccini’s La Bohème, Jonathan Larson’s groundbreaking musical follows a group of young artists and musicians living in New York’s East Village as they navigate friendship, love, ambition and the devastating impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis. Its unforgettable score, including classics such as Seasons of Love and Take Me or Leave Me, continues to resonate with audiences around the world.

The newly announced cast brings together an exciting mix of established performers and emerging talent. Bella Brown recently received a WhatsOnStage Award nomination for Evita after appearing in Into the Woods, Hadestown and Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends, while Billy Nevers is currently appearing in Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium. Danielle Fiamanya earned an Olivier Award nomination for Brigadoon, Jeevan Braich picked up both WhatsOnStage and Stage Debut Awards for Starlight Express, and Lazy Violet returns to a role they have previously played to acclaim.

Speaking about the casting, producers Chris Harper and Sonia Friedman said the company embodies the individuality, honesty and generosity of spirit that have made RENT one of the world’s most enduring musicals. They added that nearly three decades after it first transformed musical theatre, its themes of love, community, resilience and hope remain as powerful and relevant as ever.

With an exciting new company, an acclaimed creative team and one of the most beloved scores in musical theatre history, this landmark revival looks set to ensure there really is “no day but today” for a whole new generation of theatregoers.
