Dudman will play Mickey, appearing alongside Adam Filipe as Anthony. The company is completed by Fred Double, Francesca Ellis and Joshy Alody. Dudman is currently appearing on screen as Asher Green in the reboot of Scrubs. His previous credits include Fate: The Winx Saga, The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die and The Stranger. Filipe’s theatre work includes leading roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Titanic The Musical and The Prince of Egypt in the West End.

Written by Peter Quilter, End of the Rainbow is set in London in 1968 as Judy Garland prepares for a run of concerts at the Talk of the Town. The play focuses on the final chapter of Garland’s life, exploring the tension between her public persona and private struggles.

The production combines Garland’s well-known songs with a narrative that examines her relationship with fame, performance and control. It presents a portrait of a performer working under intense pressure, balancing expectation with personal cost. Jinkx Monsoon takes on the role of Garland following acclaimed stage and screen work, bringing the character back to London for this limited run. The production places the focus on the period leading up to Garland’s final performances, framing her story through rehearsals, relationships and the demands of the stage.

The creative team is led by director Rupert Hands, with musical supervision and orchestration by Leo Munby and musical direction by Nick Barstow. Movement direction is by Fabian Aloise, with design by Jasmine Swan, lighting by Prema Mehta and sound by Tony Gayle.

End of the Rainbow continues to be one of the most frequently revived plays centred on Garland’s life, offering a theatrical interpretation of her later years while drawing on her musical legacy.

This new production brings the play to Soho Theatre Walthamstow for a limited engagement, with performances running from 15 May to 21 June 2026.
