After KPop Demon Hunters landed in Matinee’s Top 5 of 2025, the film’s breakout music is now heading to one of the biggest stages in British music. EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI, the vocal forces behind HUNTR/X in Netflix’s global phenomenon, have confirmed a special performance as part of The BRIT Awards 2026 with Mastercard.

The trio are nominated for International Group and International Song of the Year for ‘Golden’, and will deliver a specially filmed performance outside Manchester’s Co-op Live ahead of the ceremony on Saturday 28 February 2026. The performance will air during the live broadcast on ITV1, ITVX and YouTube.

This marks the first ever BRITs performance by a K-pop act.

2026 BRIT Award nominees

The announcement places EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI alongside an already headline-grabbing performance line-up including Harry Styles, Olivia Dean, Wolf Alice and Mark Ronson.

The impact of KPop Demon Hunters has been extraordinary. The film became Netflix’s most popular release of all time and won Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes, with ‘Golden’ also picking up Best Original Song – Motion Picture. The track went on to win the Grammy for Song Written for Visual Media and is nominated for Best Original Song at the 2026 Academy Awards.

In the UK, ‘Golden’ made history as the first K-pop single in 13 years to reach Number 1, spending 12 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Official Singles Chart. The soundtrack has logged 30 non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official Compilations Chart and has surpassed 10.8 billion global streams.

For Matinee, it is a moment to celebrate. We have been proudly spinning tracks from the film all year, and seeing it land at the BRITs feels like the culmination of a movement that has crossed from screen to stage, from streaming to cultural landmark.

The 2026 ceremony takes place at Co-op Live in Manchester, hosted by Jack Whitehall. It is the show’s first year in its new Manchester home, with the BRITs Fringe programme also celebrating the city’s music heritage in the lead-up to the event.

Nominees this year include Olivia Dean and Lola Young leading the British categories, with Sam Fender following his Mercury Prize win. International nominations feature artists including Bad Bunny, Doechii, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift and HAIM.

But the addition of EJAE, Audrey Nuna and REI AMI brings something new to the BRITs stage: a genre-defining crossover moment that reflects how global and interconnected contemporary music has become.

As they said in today’s statement: they cannot wait to bring a special performance to Manchester. Neither can we.
