A brand new British musical is stepping into the West End spotlight for one special night. After more than a decade in development, Rosie will receive its West End premiere at the Adelphi Theatre on Tuesday 17 March 2026. MatineeMusicals has the full story.

The musical will be presented as a one night only, semi staged gala performance produced by Cavendish Productions, Paul Morrissey Ltd and Darren Bell Productions. Leading the evening is Lucy Thomas, the viral vocal powerhouse who has built a devoted global following. Further casting and creatives will be revealed, but the decision to place Lucy in the title role has already created buzz across the theatre world.

Rosie tells the striking true story of Rosie Boote, a young woman raised in a convent in Ireland who dreams of becoming a star on the West End stage of Edwardian London. Her journey is shaped by ambition, romance and significant scandal. It is a story filled with determination and heart, the kind that feels tailor made for musical theatre.

Lucy Thomas first appeared on ITV1’s The Voice Kids at the age of fourteen, where her voice made an immediate impact. She soon signed with Cavendish Records. Since then, she has released five acclaimed studio albums and built extraordinary online reach. Lucy has more than one million YouTube subscribers, over three hundred million views on her channel and recordings that have been watched more than two billion times on TikTok. Her move into leading a major stage musical marks an exciting next chapter.

A studio cast album of Rosie was released in 2024 and quickly earned praise. The songs Starlight, Suddenly and Broken Dreams have secured millions of streams and won six International Songwriting Awards. The show’s music, lyrics and original concept are by composer Chris Broom, who has produced albums for a wide range of classical crossover artists and has collaborated with Lucy since 2018.

Rosie is produced by three companies with significant experience in new work and high profile musical projects. Cavendish Productions has developed the show for more than ten years, including a successful showcase at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Paul Morrissey Ltd has delivered concerts, new musicals, plays and international touring productions. Darren Bell Productions has become known for star led concerts and award nominated musical stagings. Their combined expertise positions Rosie as a project with strong creative backing and long term potential.

The performance will take place at the Adelphi Theatre on Tuesday 17 March 2026 at 7.30pm. With a real life story, a soaring score and an artist with worldwide reach leading the company, Rosie is set to attract significant attention as it makes its first steps onto a West End stage.
