Madonna’s acclaimed recording of Evita is finally coming to vinyl, with a deluxe three-LP edition of the complete motion picture soundtrack arriving on 13 November 2026 to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
The 1996 film soundtrack, featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, will be released on translucent red vinyl, marking the first time the complete recording has been available on the format.
For musical theatre fans, it is a particularly welcome release. The recording, which we regularly feature on Stuart’s show here at Matinee Musicals, remains one of the most memorable screen interpretations of a stage musical score.
The new 3LP edition will be housed in a trifold sleeve and accompanied by a 20-page, 11-inch square booklet featuring stills from the film.

Collectors will also be able to purchase a limited-edition Gold Nugget vinyl pressing, available exclusively through Madonna’s and Rhino’s official websites. A new deluxe 2CD edition is also being released, presented in a softpak with a 24-page booklet.
Ahead of the anniversary release, the original UK and European three-track single of “You Must Love Me” has been made available on streaming services. The digital release includes two recordings previously unavailable on digital streaming platforms: the single version of “You Must Love Me” and an orchestral version combining “You Must Love Me” with “I'd Be Surprisingly Good for You”. The collection is completed by “Rainbow High”.
Written specifically for the 1996 film, “You Must Love Me” won both the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song. It also became a UK Top 10 hit. The soundtrack's other major single, “Don't Cry for Me Argentina”, reached number three in the UK and number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Originally conceived as a concept album in 1976, Evita became one of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's most celebrated musicals, transferring from London's West End to Broadway, where it won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
Two decades later, director Alan Parker brought the story of Eva Perón to the screen, with Madonna in the title role alongside Antonio Banderas as Che and Jonathan Pryce as Juan Perón.
The film earned Madonna a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, while the production itself won Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
Its soundtrack became a major commercial success, selling more than seven million copies worldwide.
The album topped the UK charts and reached number two on the US Billboard 200, where it was certified five-times platinum.

The complete recording features some of the musical's most recognisable numbers, including “Buenos Aires”, “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”, “I'd Be Surprisingly Good for You”, “A New Argentina”, “High Flying, Adored”, “Rainbow High” and “Waltz for Eva and Che”. Unlike the shorter soundtrack editions, the complete recording preserves the film's musical storytelling across 31 tracks, from “A Cinema in Buenos Aires, 26 July 1952” through to the closing “Lament”. The anniversary vinyl edition spreads the entire score across six sides, giving one of Madonna's most distinctive recordings a long-awaited physical release in its complete form.
Evita (The Complete Motion Picture Music Soundtrack) is released on 13 November 2026 on translucent red 3LP vinyl, limited-edition Gold Nugget vinyl and deluxe 2CD. The gold nugget edition is available through From Madonna.com and Rhino.com.
