Paddington is spreading the joy once again. A brand new single, ‘Marmalade’, from Paddington The Musical has just been released on Decca, giving fans another taste of the score that has helped turn the Savoy Theatre production into one of the most talked about new musicals in London.

Written by Tom Fletcher and arranged and orchestrated by Matt Brind, the upbeat track captures the playful spirit of the show. In the theatre, the number is one of the musical’s most exuberant moments. Sung by James Hameed as the voice of Paddington, alongside Tom Edden as the famously grumpy Mr Curry and the company, ‘Marmalade’ quickly transforms into a joyful sing-along with the audience.

It is exactly the kind of musical mischief that Paddington thrives on.

The song arrives ahead of the release of the Paddington The Musical – Original Cast Recording, which will be released by Decca on 22 May 2026. Recorded with the full West End cast and orchestra at Abbey Road Studios, the album promises to capture the warmth, humour and musical richness that have made the stage production such a hit.

Currently playing at the Savoy Theatre, Paddington The Musical has quickly become one of the standout family shows in the West End. The production has earned an impressive run of award nominations including 11 Olivier Awards, 15 WhatsOnStage Awards and four Critics’ Circle Awards.

Based on Michael Bond’s beloved stories and the hugely successful film series, the musical brings Paddington’s adventures in Windsor Gardens to life with spectacle, heart and a generous helping of marmalade sandwiches.

The creative team behind the production reads like a roll call of major theatre talent. The show features music and lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale and direction by Luke Sheppard. Choreography is by Ellen Kane, with scenic design by Tom Pye and costumes by Gabriella Slade. The Paddington Bear design by Tahra Zafar helps bring the famous character to the stage with warmth and charm.

The West End cast includes Timi Akinyosade, Amy Booth-Steel, Tarinn Callender, Delilah Bennett-Cardy, Adrian Der Gregorian, Tom Edden, Brenda Edwards, Amy Ellen Richardson, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt, Teddy Kempner and Bonnie Langford, with Arti Shah performing Paddington on stage and James Hameed providing the character’s voice.

Since opening at the Savoy, the musical has delighted audiences with its mixture of heartfelt storytelling, playful humour and show-stopping numbers. ‘Marmalade’ captures that energy perfectly. Bright, mischievous and irresistibly catchy, it is a reminder that Paddington’s world is built on kindness, community and just a little bit of chaos.
