Wicked Celebrates 15th Birthday in London’s West End admin
21-11-25
Back to the Future The Musical is powering up for a major celebration. On Wednesday 3 December 2025, the Adelphi Theatre will mark the 40th anniversary of the original film with a one night only performance that brings together three Marty McFlys.
Lead producer Colin Ingram has announced, with film creators Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, that alumni cast members Olly Dobson and Ben Joyce will make a special return to the West End production. Both actors will join current Marty Caden Brauch, and throughout the evening all three will take on the role. It is a rare moment in a long running hit and a fitting tribute to one of cinema’s most iconic characters.

Olly Dobson originated the role in Manchester and at the Adelphi. His performance earned him an Olivier Award nomination and helped launch the show to record breaking success. Speaking about returning, he said, “Originating the role of Marty is undeniably the highlight of my career. To be stepping back into his shoes for one night only is super exciting. Let’s celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film with this very special performance. Rock n roll slackers.”

Ben Joyce followed in the role and was nominated for a WhatsOnStage Award for Best Takeover. He has since appeared in Shucked and Jersey Boys. He said, “It’s such a thrill to return to this production and I’m so excited to perform alongside both Olly and Caden – it’s not often you get three Martys on one stage! 40 years of Back to the Future – what a legacy it has been! I’m so pleased to have been a small part of that here at the Adelphi.”

Their return is the centrepiece of a milestone season for Back to the Future The Musical. The production has entered its fifth year in London. Over two million people have seen it in the UK and the show continues to break box office records at the Adelphi. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical along with four WhatsOnStage Awards and a Broadway World Award. Worldwide, more than three point eight million people have seen the musical across North America, Japan, Australia, Royal Caribbean Cruises and soon Germany. A UK tour launches in October 2026.

The West End company is led by Caden Brauch as Marty McFly and Cory English as Doc Brown. Maddie Grace Jepson, Orlando Gibbs, C. J. Borger, Alex Runicles and Talia Palamathanan round out the principal cast with a large ensemble bringing Hill Valley to life. At select performances, Oliver Halford will play Marty McFly. He was discovered through a global casting call and this production marks his West End debut.
Tickets begin at nineteen pounds and fifty five pence, with an average ticket price of fifty six pounds and seventy eight pence. The show is currently booking until Sunday 12 April 2026.
The Original Cast Recording, released by Sony Music’s Masterworks Broadway label, has passed twenty million streams. A Deluxe Edition was released for Back to the Future Day in 2023 and features never before heard demos and early versions.
Three Martys, one DeLorean and a 40 year legacy. This will be an Adelphi night for the history books.
