Heathers releases global Candy Store video as UK tour continues into 2027

The Heathers have gone global, with nine versions of Westerberg High’s most fearsome trio joining forces for a new Candy Store video filmed across London, New York and Sydney.

Released to celebrate Heathers Day, the video brings together the current Heathers from the UK & Ireland, New York and Australian productions of Heathers the Musical, as the show’s international expansion continues.

Representing the UK & Ireland are Liberty Stottor as Heather Chandler, Jessica Ibadin as Heather Duke and Lou Henry as Heather McNamara.

They’re joined by New York’s Zan Berube, Jackera Davis and Ava DeMary, and Australia’s Calista Nelmes, Amélia Rojas and Abigail Sharp.

The video arrives as the current UK & Ireland tour continues through the autumn before returning for another substantial run of dates in spring 2027. The production will also head to Manila for a limited season at The Theatre at Solaire from 21 January to 7 February 2027.

Gerardine Sacdalan leads the company as Veronica Sawyer, opposite Louis Hearsey as Jason “J.D.” Dean. Stottor, Ibadin and Henry continue as the three Heathers.

The cast also includes Veronica Carabai as Ms Fleming/Veronica’s Mom, Sophie Manners as Martha Dunnstock, Markus Södergren as Kurt Kelly and Beau Jackson as Ram Sweeney.

John Gurdían plays Ram’s Dad/Big Bud Dean/Coach Ripper, with Reuben Browne as Kurt’s Dad/Veronica’s Dad/Principal Gowan.

The musical’s reach is expanding considerably beyond the UK. A North American tour will launch at Baltimore’s Hippodrome Theatre in May 2027 before visiting New Haven, Chicago, Charlotte, Greenville and Hershey, with further dates still to be announced.

Meanwhile, the current New York production at New World Stages has extended for a fourth and final time and will now run until 8 November 2026. It originally opened in June 2025 and was initially scheduled to close in September that year.

Heathers has also been touring Australia and New Zealand, visiting Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Canberra, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch before concluding in Perth this October.

The musical has now enjoyed three West End runs and three UK and Ireland tours. It won the 2019 WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical, while a filmed version was released on The Roku Channel in 2022.

Based on Daniel Waters’ 1989 film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the musical follows Veronica Sawyer as she finds herself pulled into the orbit of Westerberg High’s ruling clique, the Heathers, before the arrival of mysterious outsider J.D. takes events in a much darker direction.

The stage version has a book, music and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe. It is directed by Andy Fickman, with choreography and associate direction by Gary Lloyd, design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson. Will Joy is music supervisor and Jeremy Wootton music associate.

The current tour continues throughout autumn 2026 before returning for a further 12 UK dates in spring 2027.
