Wicked Celebrates 15th Birthday in London’s West End admin
10-02-26 Palace Theatre, Manchester by Tiffany Chevis The story of entrepreneur and imagineer PT Barnum is seen as an inspirational tale of what happens when you follow your dreams, push beyond naysayers, and shoot for the stars. This narrative may have become extremely well known in the last nine years thanks to a certain movie sensation, but Barnum the Circus Musical is arguably the original, with its own approach and […]
27-01-26 Alhambra Theatre Tuesday 27 January by Fiona Holleyhead From the first beat, it was clear the audience for Friends! The Musical Parody was packed with fans ready to laugh, recognise, and relive moments from one of television’s most enduring sitcoms. When you're in good company with like minded fans of a series you grew up with, you know you're in for an uplifting experience. Rather than leaning on surface-level […]
Review: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe 03-12-25 Lowry, Salford Quays by Jamie Griffiths The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe arrives at Lowry as a beautifully made festive spectacle, full of imagination, music and emotional warmth. It is a production that embraces both the intimacy of storytelling and the sweep of fantasy, making it an ideal winter escape for families. The music is one of its most impressive […]
Review: Tina the Tina Turner Musical ★ ★ ★ ★ Palace Theatre Manchester 27-11-25 by Katy Ratican TINA – The Tina Turner Musical comes with the kind of expectation reserved for true legends. Tina Turner’s life, music and legacy are so vast that distilling them into a single stage production feels ambitious. Yet this touring production succeeds by leaning into the truth of her story rather than sanitising it and […]
Review: Miss Saigon ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Manchester Palace Theatre 13-11-25 by Tiffany Chevis Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary Miss Saigon is one of those bucket-list shows that every theatre-lover has on their list, and has graced stages around the world for over 35 years. This new production by Michael Harrison, in association with Cameron Mackintosh, lands half a century after the end of the Vietnam War – and remains […]
Review: Matilda the Musical – UK Tour The Alhambra Theatre, Bradford 05-11-25 by Fiona Holleyhead (and family) ★★★★★ What a triumph, a joy and an absolute treat. Matilda the Musical brought a slice of the West End to Bradford, and for my family it was the perfect night out, full of laughter, wonder, and a touch of glorious chaos. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this touring production proves Matilda has lost […]
Review: Young Frankenstein ★★★★ Hope Mill Theatre 15-10-25 by Jamie Griffiths Hope Mill has struck lightning with Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein, and this time, it is most definitely alive. I have seen the show at Newcastle Theatre Royal and later in the West End, both joyous in their own right, but this new Manchester production surpasses them technically and emotionally. The intimacy of Hope Mill’s space gives the comedy and […]
Review: The Diana Mixtape 19-08-25 Lowry, Salford Quays by Jamie Griffiths The Diana Mixtape bills itself as part musical, part concert and part party, but it’s also something else: a riotous, heartfelt and gloriously camp love letter to the People’s Princess. After a buzzy London premiere, the show has arrived at the Lowry, and it’s a Di-light from start to finish. Five queens step into Diana’s kitten heels, Courtney Act, […]
Review: The Addams Family – The Musical Comedy 12-08-25 The Lowry by Jamie Griffiths Some nights at the theatre you just want to sit back, relax and be dazzled. No heavy themes to unpack, just a cast clearly enjoying themselves, great melodies in the air and staging that fills the auditorium. The Addams Family at The Lowry delivered exactly that as part of its 2025 UK tour. Matthew White’s production […]
