Broadway history is heading to the West End this summer. Tony and Grammy Award winner Leslie Odom, Jr. will reprise his iconic role as Aaron Burr in the London production of Hamilton for a strictly limited nine week season at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
The original Broadway Burr will make his West End debut from 3 July to 5 September 2026, stepping back into the role that earned him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical and helped define one of the most celebrated musicals of the modern era.

For theatre fans, this is a rare chance to witness a piece of Broadway history recreated in London. Odom originated the role opposite Lin-Manuel Miranda in the original production of Hamilton, delivering a performance widely regarded as one of the musical’s defining elements.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh reflected on first seeing the production more than a decade ago. “When Jeffrey Seller first invited me to see Hamilton during its New York try-out at the Public Theater over 10 years ago, I was knocked out by Leslie Odom, Jr.’s electric performance as Aaron Burr opposite Lin-Manuel’s unforgettably charismatic Alexander Hamilton. So, I’m absolutely thrilled that London will now be able to share the experience of Leslie for a short season.”
For Odom himself, the return carries emotional weight. “Returning to Hamilton and revisiting the role of Aaron Burr with the growth and perspective of time has been a profoundly healing artistic experience. I am having so much fun,” he said. “I am thankful to Cameron Mackintosh and Jeffrey Seller for the invitation to make my West End debut with this fabulous company. The London production will grant me a few more glorious weeks to share Lin-Manuel’s music with an international audience who, I have learned, love this show as much, if not more, than I. I’m crossing the ocean and I just can’t wait.”
Since originating the role, Odom’s career has expanded across film, television and stage. He received widespread acclaim for portraying Sam Cooke in the film One Night in Miami…, earning nominations for an Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award. His screen credits also include Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Murder on the Orient Express and Abbott Elementary.
The London production of Hamilton continues to play to packed houses at the Victoria Palace Theatre. The current company includes Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton, Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, Bente Mulan as Eliza Hamilton, Emily-Mae as Angelica Schuyler, Jasmine Jia Yung Shen as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, Jonathan Andrew Hume as George Washington, Yeukayi Ushe as Marquis De Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, Jordan Castle as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison, Jordan Benjamin as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton and Daniel Boys as King George III.

Tickets for Odom’s limited season are expected to be among the most sought after theatre events of 2026. Fans can sign up for priority booking via the official Hamilton website, with priority booking opening on 12 March 2026 before public booking begins on 13 March 2026.
With music, lyrics and book by Lin-Manuel Miranda and direction by Thomas Kail, Hamilton remains one of the defining musical theatre phenomena of the 21st century.
This summer, London audiences will have the rare chance to see the original Aaron Burr return to the room where it happens.
