Missed Rebecca Lucy Taylor in Teeth ’N’ Smiles in the West End? The acclaimed production is heading to National Theatre at Home this September. The Self Esteem star takes centre stage as Maggie Frisby in the 50th anniversary production of David Hare’s play with original music, which was filmed live during its run at the Duke of York’s Theatre.

It will be available to stream from 8 September 2026 as part of a new collection of National Theatre at Home releases this autumn. Taylor plays Maggie, once the roaring voice of the 1960s counterculture, whose dreams of rebellion have given way to disillusionment. Broke and fuelled by booze and fury, the singer finds herself confronting what remains of the youthful ideals she and her band once shared.
The role marked another major stage appearance for Taylor, better known to music fans as Self Esteem. She previously made a huge impression in the West End when she took over as Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club in 2023. Her performance included the Kander and Ebb numbers “Maybe This Time”, “Mein Herr” and the musical’s title song.
Now audiences who missed Teeth ’N’ Smiles in the theatre will have the chance to see Taylor’s latest stage performance at home. The production is one of five major titles joining the National Theatre’s streaming platform this autumn.

First up is Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, starring Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston alongside Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Paapa Essiedu. Ivo Van Hove’s production, captured during its run at Wyndham’s Theatre, will stream from 1 September.

Following Teeth ’N’ Smiles on 8 September, Martin Freeman and Jack Lowden star in David Ireland’s The Fifth Step, available from 1 October.

Then, from 22 October, the National Theatre’s War Horse joins the platform following its return to the Olivier Theatre this summer. The production features its celebrated life-sized horses created by Handspring Puppet Company and music by Adrian Sutton.

Helen Mirren’s performance as Queen Elizabeth II in The Audience will also become available globally on the same date. Written by The Crown creator Peter Morgan and directed by Stephen Daldry, the production was originally captured in the West End in 2013.
All five join the growing National Theatre at Home collection, with captions available across every title and Audio Description offered on more than 90% of the platform’s productions.
Teeth ’N’ Smiles, starring Rebecca Lucy Taylor, will be available to stream on National Theatre at Home from 8 September 2026.
