Vanessa Williams and Matt Henry are preparing to walk their final runway in the West End production of The Devil Wears Prada.

Williams will play her final performance as formidable Runway editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly at the Dominion Theatre on 19 September 2026, with Henry following with his final performance as creative fashion director Nigel on 17 October.

Their replacements will be announced in due course.

Williams has led the company as Miranda since the musical arrived in the West End, bringing the iconic character from Lauren Weisberger’s novel and the hit movie to the stage. She is joined by Olivier Award winner Matt Henry, whose previous musical theatre credits include Kinky Boots and The Drifters Girl. The current company also features Mamma Mia! I Have A Dream winner Stevie Doc as Andy, Taila Halford as Emily, Keelan McAuley as Nate and Dominic Andersen as Christian. The Devil Wears Prada opened at the Dominion Theatre in December 2024 following its initial run at Theatre Royal Plymouth and went on to become the fastest-selling show in the Dominion’s history.

The musical features an original score by Elton John, whose extensive musical theatre catalogue also includes Billy Elliot: The Musical and Disney’s The Lion King. Lyrics are by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, with a book by Kate Wetherhead. Jerry Mitchell provides direction and choreography.

The production also released its original cast recording in 2025, featuring Williams, Henry and the company alongside two previously unheard original Elton John demos. The album reached number one among new releases on the compilations chart.

Based on the 2003 novel and subsequent film, The Devil Wears Prada follows aspiring journalist Andy as she lands a job at Runway magazine working for the seemingly impossible-to-please Miranda Priestly. As Andy is increasingly drawn into Miranda’s glamorous world, her dream job begins to have consequences for the life and relationships she has outside it.

The stage show features set design by Tim Hatley, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Bruno Poet and sound design by Gareth Owen.

Williams’ departure comes after almost two years in the role of Miranda, with her final performance set for 19 September. Henry will remain with the production for a further four weeks, playing his final performance as Nigel on 17 October.

The Devil Wears Prada continues at London’s Dominion Theatre and is currently booking until 6 February 2027.
