New production images for Bill Kenwright’s Blood Brothers Autumn 2025 tour have been released, shot by photographer Jack Merriman. The photographs spotlight a company bringing fresh energy to one of the longest-running and most acclaimed British musicals.
Vivienne Carlyle returns as Mrs Johnstone, a role that has earned her nightly standing ovations in the West End and critical acclaim on tour. Sean Jones and Joe Sleight continue as the twin brothers, Mickey and Eddie, with Gemma Brodrick reprising her performance as Linda.
Also returning are Kristofer Harding as the Narrator, Paula Tappenden as Mrs Lyons, and Danny Knott as Perkins. Joining the cast for the Autumn tour are Michael Gillett (Sammy), Francesca Benton-Stace (Donna Marie/Miss Jones) and Latesha Karisa (Brenda). Continuing in the company are Tim Churchill (Mr Lyons), Dominic Gore (Neighbour), Alex Harland (Policeman/Teacher) and Graeme Kinniburgh (Postman/Bus Conductor).
Written by Willy Russell, Blood Brothers has been described by the Sunday Times as “one of the best musicals ever written.” The show’s story of twins separated at birth — who grow up on opposite sides of Liverpool and are reunited with tragic consequences — has resonated with audiences for over four decades.
Bill Kenwright’s production is one of the most successful in musical theatre history. It surpassed 10,000 performances in the West End and has played sell-out seasons internationally, including in the U.S., Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Japan. In March 2025, the show returned to Liverpool for a record-breaking two-week run at the Empire Theatre, marking the venue’s centenary year.
The score includes “Bright New Day,” “Marilyn Monroe” and the showstopper “Tell Me It’s Not True,” often bringing audiences to their feet. The production has won four Best Musical awards in London and received seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.
