Layton Williams is taking his extraordinary musical theatre career on the road with Layton Live, a brand-new UK tour celebrating almost 20 years since he made his professional stage debut.

The Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee will visit more than 20 towns and cities between 23 February and 4 April 2027, culminating in a major London performance at the Adelphi Theatre.

Layton Live promises a musical journey through Williams’ career, revisiting shows including Billy Elliot, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Cabaret, Hairspray and his Olivier Award-winning turn in Titanique.

There will also be stops in the Bad Education classroom and the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom as Williams combines music and dance with stories from behind the scenes of his career. Backed by a company of performers, the show will feature live vocals and choreography alongside some of the songs and moments which have defined his two decades on stage and screen. Williams began his professional career aged just 12 when he took over the title role in the West End production of Billy Elliot at the Victoria Palace Theatre. His subsequent musical theatre career has included Thriller Live, Rent, Hairspray, Kiss Me, Kate and Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man and Lord of the Flies.

He went on to take the title role in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie at London’s Apollo Theatre and played the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club.

Most recently, Williams starred as the Iceberg in Titanique at the Criterion Theatre, winning the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical. He subsequently transferred with the production to Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination. Before heading out with Layton Live, Williams will return to the stage as King Herod in Jesus Christ Superstar at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

His screen career has meanwhile included Bad Education, Strictly Come Dancing, I Hate Suzie, I Kissed A Boy, Benidorm and Netflix’s People We Meet on Vacation. He will also appear as stylist Onassis in Geek Girl.

The Layton Live tour begins at the Corn Exchange in Newbury on 23 February 2027 before visiting Harrogate, Manchester, Derby, Northampton, Poole, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and Inverness.

Further dates include Birmingham, Woking, Fareham, Swindon, Blackpool, Oxford, Newcastle, Mold and Cardiff before the final stretch takes Williams to Sheffield, Milton Keynes and Basingstoke.

The tour concludes at London’s Adelphi Theatre on 4 April 2027.
